Amsterdam – 16 April 2010 – after three months of renovation and restyling, Park Plaza Vondelpark, Amsterdam re-launched officially yesterday. The hotel was also awarded four star status by NHC (Dutch Hotel Classification). European design and art were the inspiration for this transformation, architects AbrahamsCrielaers stated this in the hotel’s interior with prominent showpieces and contemporary murals. Technology solutions such as WIFI and IP TV have been incorporated, but the highlight of the makeover is undoubtedly the brand new V Bar & Lounge.
Following the successful partnership in the renovation of Park Plaza Mandarin Eindhoven in 2008, Park Plaza Hotels once again sought the expertise of architects AbrahamsCrielaers for the restyling of its hotel near the Vondelpark in Amsterdam. Park Plaza Vondelpark, Amsterdam now boasts a modern and timeless design, whilst maintaining its characteristic details. Design classics such as the Bubble Chair by Eero Aarnio, Igloo chairs by Cappellini and Showtime armchairs by Jaime Hayon are prominent showpieces in the completely redesigned lobby. Dutch artist Jeroen Monnikendam is responsible for the lobby’s contemporary mural.
The highlight of this transformation of Park Plaza Vondelpark, Amsterdam is the brand new V Bar & Lounge. This contemporary wine bar promises to be the ‘hotspot’ of the ‘Oud Zuid’ district, not only because of the warm relaxed atmosphere but also for its Wine menu. A selection of twenty quality but accessible wines is combined with appetising snacks. The view of the Vondelpark creates a feeling of spaciousness and tranquillity in the city and in summer the balcony doors will be opened allowing guests to enjoy panoramic views of the park
In addition to complimentary WIFI and interactive TV entertainment, Park Plaza Vondelpark, Amsterdam also offers meeting facilities equipped with the latest audio visual technology facilitating up to 60 delegates.
This renovated four-star hotel is beautifully located in the popular ‘Oud - Zuid’ district, next to the world famous Amsterdam Vondelpark. The hotel has 138 rooms, from superior and executive rooms to suites, all equipped with flat screen TV with interactive channels, mini-bar, telephone, laptop safe and en-suite bathroom with bath or shower.
